Whatever is Pure and True

There is a lot of hatred, fear, destruction and violence in our world today. I know that this time in history really isn’t any different than any other, we just live in a world where the news (especially negative) can move at faster paces than ever before.

I’m not naive, and I know injustice needs to be acknowledged and addressed. And I know that desperation makes us do crazy things, but is our focus in the wrong place?  I can’t help but wonder what would happen if we started focusing on that which is good pure and true if things would change.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

There are no easy answers. To continue as we are will only continue to perpetuate the fear and destruction. On all sides. .

Praying for those that work to serve to protect us. Praying for those that feel the only way to be heard is through violence. Praying that it will end.

    As these events continue to unfold several things come to mind.
    1. John 10:10 which says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
    2. The quote “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
    3. 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

    The truth is America has a sin problem and we must start dealing with the sin rather than the symptoms of the sin so we can end the horrible acts being committed against our fellow brothers and sisters. Let’s continue to pray for the Lord’s healing.
